Supra, a Layer-1 blockchain (L1) platform, has launched the new StarKey Wallet ahead of its Token Generation Event (TGE), according to the latest updates shared with Finbold on July 30.
The StarKey Wallet, designed as the primary interface for Supra’s advanced blockchain, went live last week on Google Chrome through the official Chrome Web Store.
Mobile and additional browser versions, including Brave and Mozilla Firefox, will be released soon.
StarKey Wallet debut
StarKey Wallet achieved over 130,000 downloads within the first three days, earning itself more than 300 five-star reviews on the Chrome store.
The positive reviews underscore the demand for a user-friendly and secure wallet solution.
Joshua Tobkin, CEO of Supra, expressed his excitement for the launch, stating:
“We are ecstatic to introduce StarKey Wallet to the Web3 community. Our mission has always been to provide secure, user-friendly solutions that empower users to explore the limitless possibilities of Web3 technology, and StarKey Wallet is a testament to our commitment to not only this innovation, but our dedication to security as well. With features like Split Key Recovery and multichain connectivity, we are setting a new standard for what users can expect from a self-custodial wallet, and the incredible response we’ve received within the first few days of launch highlights the fact that the crypto community feels the same. We sincerely believe that StarKey Wallet is poised to become the go-to wallet for Web3 enthusiasts and developers alike.”
Split Key Recovery
“Split Key Recovery” is the most notable of the StarKey features, dividing user recovery keys into three fragments stored across the cloud, a local storage device, and a guardian.
Only two fragments, along with the user’s password, are needed for recovery.
This eliminates a single point of failure, a vulnerability in traditional non-custodial wallets.
Audited by Web3 security experts CD Security, the wallet ensures the highest industry standards, allowing users to navigate Web3 with confidence.
Besides its innovative security features, StarKey supports multichain connectivity, enabling users to manage assets across multiple blockchain networks, including Supra, Ethereum (ETH), Aptos (APT), Sui (SUI), Solana (SOL), etc.
Upcoming StarKey features
Upcoming features include StarKey Assist, which sends users automated alerts and updates about gas fees, asset detection, and other essential notifications.
The Auto-Detect Networks Custom Gas Trigger will enable users to execute transactions automatically when gas fees meet preset parameters.
Additionally, users will be able to manage smart accounts within the same app as their Web3 hot wallets, which simplifies digital asset management.
Another step toward token generation
As the official wallet of Supra, the launch of StarKey Wallet marks a significant milestone for Supra.
With the upcoming TGE and mainnet launch, Supra’s 512,000 verified token holders will now have access to a robust self-custodial wallet and be able to interact with one of the most powerful L1 blockchains within its interface.
Supra’s L1 blockchain, powered by the Moonshot consensus mechanism, processed 530,000 transactions per second across 125 globally distributed nodes, with 500-millisecond optimistic finality and 1.5–2 seconds full finality.
The launch of StarKey Wallet will enable everyday Web3 users to leverage innovative technologies, helping establish Supra as a global leader in the blockchain industry.
